Capturing the Beauty of the World's Largest Flower Garden

Keukenhof, located in the Netherlands, is widely regarded as the most stunning flower park of its kind in the world each spring. Annually, Keukenhof plants more than 7 million bulbs to be grown into flowers. The Netherlands wouldn't be complete without this landmark. Spectacular displays of flora, including tulips, irises, lilies, hyacinths, daffodils, orchids, and more, are on display in the open in several pavilions and gardens. The Keukenhof Gardens in the Netherlands will be open from March 23 to May 14 in 2023, including Easter (8 - 10 April), King's Day (April 27), and Liberation Day (May 5). Referred to as the Garden of Europe, the grounds of Keukenhof extend across 32 hectares of land.

What to Expect?

Even though the most extensive flower garden, Keukenhof, is only open for a brief period of time, it is necessary to plan your vacation to coincide with this breathtaking spot. An event like this, which features 7 million tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths, is worth seeing at least once in a lifetime.

You will encounter a diverse assortment of gardens and design motifs around Keukenhof's grounds. The Historical Garden is fenced and displays various bulbs, in contrast to the English Garden's serpentine walks, which are both lovely and picturesque. Water gardens, fountains, and ponds spread throughout a good portion of the park.

Visitors Information

Only a few weeks out of the year is Keukenhof open to the public. The garden typically welcomes visitors late in the month of March, and it stays open until late in May. During this period, Keukenhof is open daily, including public holidays, from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm.

A few pavilions are scattered throughout the garden that house restaurants that provide self-service options for guests who feel peckish. Sandwiches made with smoked sausage, waffles, and Dutch herring are among the available options for food. Moreover, there are many different vendors situated all across the area. Among the pavilions are the following:

  1. The Juliana Pavilion is not only the oldest structure in the park but also has an outside terrace where you can enjoy refreshments such as snacks and coffee.
  2. The Wilhelmina Pavilion is one of the gorgeous pavilions in the garden. It is situated in a prime location, right on the pond. You may indulge in traditional Dutch fare in this cozy restaurant while savoring the ambience.
  3. The Small Pancake Pavilion: This pavilion can be found right next to the playground and serves up some delicious bite-sized pancakes.
  4. The Tea Pavilion offers a selection of different teas in addition to appetizers. From this pavilion, one may take in the breathtaking scenery of the surrounding flower fields.
